I totally concur.
The ones I have encountered are usually really good looking women with provocative profiles asking me to age verify and all that mess.
its really sad.
One good point, I did meet one person who was legit. She was not looking for a relationship but I have met her offline and she is a really great girl. Which has been the only legit contact in about three years of different online sites.
Just wish she was attracted to me.

Tagged is so bad, I ended up writing about them on my profile:

"Scammers on Tagged are getting out of hand.
And they're getting out of hand because gullible people don't even use common sense.
Just received a friend request from one "Smith J"

Firstly, who the hell would call themselves Smith J?
That's just like the "Watts R" scammer that led me to Tagged in the first place.
Not even knowing that the surname goes last is your first clue that this person is not who they say they are.

This particular "girl" claims to be from Callanish, which in Scotland.
Ethnicity is listed as "Native American". I seriously doubt it.
Even a Scottish-born "Native American" would have enough English skills to put her surname last.
And the photo sure doesn't show any Native features
(http://t6.tagstat.com/image04/c/177d/800i053D1tZ.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Despite these glaringly obvious clues. no less that 3 different guys have posted hearts and flowers for this "person".
Azad A, Kelvin Kai Wen and Patrick - grow a brain."

Doubt if they've read it.

markross, I have seen on many of the dating sites that allow you to post something similar to "hearts and flowers" that most of the profiles posting those for a scammer are in fact scammers themselves. Some may well be the very same person simply using one of their multiple other scam accounts to basically promote the other account.

Other than Marisa's site (search this forum for address) I haven't found one single site that doesn't have its share of scammers these days. Even the expensive "high-end" dating sites are not safe anymore. Marisa's site is GREAT to find genuine live new e-friends, but sadly no one one the site was within 100 miles of me.

you are right. that's because everybody registers on those sites full of scammers that sit on the top of Google. And my site nobody finds, only people from this board. Oh well... if only I had all that money scam sites have for advertising...

IS TAGGED A SCAM SITE TO BEGIN WITH? I DID REPORT A FEW THAT I CAUGHT ON THERE AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE. THAT LEADS ME TO WONDER IF IT'S A SITE STARTED BY SCAM ARTISTS. LIKE A BIG RING.......DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT?

no, it is not owned by scammers. It is merely owned by people who don't give a sh... As long as users click on their advertising banners and they make $$$$$$, it doesn't matter to them who clicks: scammers or real people, they still make money.

Besides, they are in constant competition with other socail networks, like myspace and facebook. They need more profiles to say "We are bigger and fatter!! We have more users!!" And the fact that those profiles are total scum... who cares? ;)

More traffic - more money. Yes, it sucks.. But it's sad reality.

WOW, looks like Tagged finally got the message!! :applause: :applause:

They seriously started removing scammers. They changed they "Report Abuse" form so it makes sense now. Yesterday I reported them 2 gay scammers from Philippines impersonating US soldiers, today both profiles are removed.

Good for Tagged!

So people, beware: if you received a message from somebody on Tagged, and when you went to look at their profile it's already gone and now says "account cancelled", it is NOT because they removed their profile. It is because somebody reported them to Tagged safety and they got booted off!!!!!! DO NOT reply to their email address!! They are SCAM!!

But they will start with new and yet unlisted scam details, hun...closing non-paysites profiles is pretty much worthless in antiscam fighting I´m afraid. Closing paysites profiles is more important since it´s always victims´ money that paid for them.
I´ve made my 7k postcount mainly by repeating basic stuff like this day for day, over and over. :)

Yes, Scam Slayer wrote yesterday that she got an identical email. Sounds good. I am not on Tagged myself so I only know that
Profile photos will be required to access most features
is something that sites such as Badoo long since have.
