The organizer and his accomplices have already been detained. They face up to 12 years in prison.
The Security Service of Ukraine liquidated an underground printing house that produced fake passports for the "legalization" of Russians in Ukraine and the EU.
This was reported in the SBU press service.
Law enforcement officers in several regions of our country exposed the organizer and three of his accomplices. They offered customers fake passports, driver's licenses, vehicle registration certificates and government land titles.
"Among the clients were citizens of the Russian Federation who, on the basis of fake documents, tried to "legalize" themselves in Ukraine or leave for the European Union. The cost of a forgery depended on the complexity of the document and the urgency of its production. For example, for one fake ID card of a citizen of Ukraine, dealers asked for 1.1 thousand dollars, and a fake driver's license was sold for 600 dollars, "said the SBU.
At the same time, the suspects fulfilled more than 100 "orders" every month. They were also engaged in the production of fake conclusions of medical commissions regarding unfitness for military service due to the state of health. Such a service of dealers cost from five to 10 thousand dollars.
"During more than 150 searches in the underground "workshop", as well as at the residence and work addresses of the persons involved in the Kyiv, Rivne, Kharkiv, Odesa and Zakarpattia regions, the following were found: forms of fake documents, equipment for making forgeries and applying holographic protective elements to them, seals and stamps used in illegal activities. Currently, the organizer of the scheme, his "courier" from Buchi, as well as two accomplices from Rivne and Kharkiv have been notified of the suspicion. Two of the above-mentioned figures are already in custody. It is also planned to notify another participant of the scheme from Rivne and a notary from Kharkiv of suspicion," the SBU said.
Perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison.
