A 33-year-old resident of Volzhsk became the victim of a Nigerian scammer. It is managed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Media.

The woman went to the police with a message that she was "divorced" for 140,000 rubles. As police officers found out, she met a heart seducer on a social network.

The man introduced himself as a Korean army officer and was said to be serving in Yemen. He quickly gained her trust and told her he wanted to finish the army and move to Russia by the New Year.

The woman was also struck by the man's intention to make a gift of $900,000, gold jewelry and an expensive phone. He wanted to send all gifts in advance.

The scammer found out the address from his interlocutor and said that he would pay for the delivery. Then a courier called her and asked her to pay a government levy of 140,000 rubles. She believed the “courier” and transferred the money to the necessary props, but after that she also had to pay for insurance and overheads. Then she realized something was wrong.

A 41-year-old Nigerian suspect was arrested in the Moscow region. He was both bridegroom and courier. A search of the home found and seized two laptops, a smartphone, SIM cards, bank cards and three passports, two of which appeared to be fakes. Criminal proceedings have now been opened under the article “fraud”. Now it turns out in which facts he could still be involved.
